"Mountains of Death"

From a distance, they first appear to be small mountains but are in effect the deposits of lead and zinc from the mines at Picher, Oklahoma.

Picher is no longer. Closed by the Federal Government due to the high concentration of lead in the environment resulting in the majority of the population suffering from lead poisoning. The town was declared unfit for habitation and the buildings have been raised to the ground, and yet the mountains of poison remain almost as if a warning.
