Supermoons occur about four times a year. This is great news for the photography community. The bad news is that many of these moons start to appear as early as four in the afternoon, meaning that by the time there is enough darkness to see the moon at its best, it has risen higher in the sky and lost its intensity and apparent size.

Fortunately, this moon rose in my area at dusk, allowing me to see the moon at its majestic best.
