Dana Delany stars as Margaret Sanger a nurse who in 1912 worked with the poor of New York City to introduce birth control information. In 1916 she set up the first birth control clinic in the United States and she was sent to a workhouse for "creating a public nuisance". Her many arrests and prosecutions, and the resulting outcries, helped lead to changes in laws giving doctors the right to give birth control advice to patients. Margaret died in 1966.
